You know sometimes when you have one of those days where nothing seems to go quite right?
Your alarm is a little more shrill than usual – You get out of bed slightly groggier than usual – Your hair just won’t cooperate into the style you want it to – Your coffee is a little cold – Some heavy-footed clod stands on your ballet flat-clad feet – The office is so chilly that your fingers have frozen, slowing down your typing –
You just know that the day is not going to go the way you want it to.
But then, every now and then you get a silver lining, and the day takes a interrupted boomerang style turn to the day, and suddenly get much better.
For instance: Something in your eBay shop finally sells – you find €2 in your pocket *that you didnt know you had* – you find out that something crappy that affects somebody you don’t particularly care for (cruel, but hey) – somebody finally reads your blog (can I get a whoop, whoop!) – you finally complete a workout where you feel like you’re not part of the story that inspired The Three Little Pigs -AKA neither pigletty nor huffing and puffing – thanks fitness helpers …
And there’s your silver lining. You realise that the inside-out socks in the morning are probably not going to prevent the world from turning, and the silly little foibles are, as Twitter likes to call it, simply #FirstWorldProblems …
And just like that – feeling much better.
